Local campaigner encourages people to have their say on home care
Local campaigner Anne-Marie Trevelyan is encouraging residents of North Northumberland to contribute their experience of receiving nursing care at home to an online survey. Northumberland LINk has teamed up with the Queens Nursing Institute to gather information on the experiences people have had of receiving nursing care at home.
Anne-Marie said, “I strongly encourage people with any experiences of home care to go online and complete this survey. The Queen’s Nursing Institute will use this information to see where there are gaps in provision and where improvements can be made.
Residents of rural Northumberland are disadvantaged by the large distances that community nurses must cover, making it difficult for them to see as many vulnerable people as they would like. Like many people, I know from personal experience how valuable the provision of home care can be. I understand that anything that can be done to support our community nurses and the service they provide, must be done.”
